SKETCHING &
PROTOTYPING
WHAT WE ARE DOING
WHY WE ARE DOING IT
Making wind sculptures using materials available to us
Our wind sculptures will help us (and others) see the wind
ACTIVITY MATERIALS
1
Think about materials you might use, and how they would respond to the wind. You can either use light/ aerodynamic parts with fixed connections, or parts that will move in the wind because of a flexible/ dynamic connection.
2
Create your first prototypes!
You might start with the base structure-- is your sculpture going to be based around a tower, or be handheld, or be hanging from something?
Add your parts that will move in the wind.
3
Test your design! With a handheld or electric fan, see how the sculpture looks and behaves in the wind.
