ACTIVITY STEPS

Friday Kabsa Lunch with the Family
Every Friday after Jumu’ah prayer, we all gather for a big plate of chicken kabsa. Everyone eats from the same tray, sitting on the floor. It’s loud, full of laughter, and feels like home.
Breaking Fast with Dates and Laban in Ramadan
That first sip of laban and bite of a soft date after a long day of fasting during Ramadan — nothing compares. The adhan for Maghrib always felt like a small celebration.
Grandmother’s Jareesh
My grandmother made the best jareesh, topped with fried onions and warm spices. She’d only make it on special occasions, and the smell filled the entire house.
Eid Morning Breakfast
Freshly brewed gahwa (Arabic coffee) and mamoul cookies right after the Eid prayer. The scent of cardamom, dates, and excitement in the air — pure joy.
Mlokhia from a Friend’s House
I had mlokhia at my Egyptian friend’s house once — it was slimy but delicious. I still remember the laughter at the table and how welcoming their family was.

Select one and reflect/develop a clear concept.
Ask yourself:
- What makes this food memory special?
- What emotion or atmosphere do I want to show? (comfort, joy, warmth, nostalgia, celebration...)
- What is the shape/textures/colors of all ingredients.
- Should the food be shown as it's being prepared, served, or simply sitting beautifully?
